Two children have drowned in the septic tank of a toilet in Binuwatol of Chandrapur Municipality-10, Rautahat.

The deceased have been identified as two-year-old Ranje Sah and two-year-old Khushbu Sah,  according to Rajkumar Rai, Deputy Superintendent of Police of the Area Police Office Chandranigahapur. 

They were playing at the house of local Hridaya Paswan when the incident took place last night.

Both children breathed their last during the course of treatment at the Chandranigahpur Hospital, police said.
