ADAN elects new leadership

The seventh National General Convention of the Auditors’ Association of Nepal (ADAN) was held from May 30 to June 1 under the leadership of outgoing President Kedar Nath Poudel. The event concluded with the endorsement of the organizational report presented by General Secretary Prem Bahadur Shrestha, the financial report presented by Treasurer Balram Chaudhary, and the adoption of 16-point special resolutions. A new 84-member central executive committee has been elected, with Badri Prasad Bhattarai as President.

An additional 11 members will be nominated by the central secretariat, as provisioned in the association’s statute, bringing the total to 95 members. Dol Prasad Dahal has been elected as the Senior Vice-president, while Jhalak Mani Lamsal takes the position of First Vice-president. Posh Raj Nepal and Bharat Kumar Shrestha were elected as the second and third Vice-presidents, respectively. Other elected Vice-presidents include Pradeep Kumar Yadav, Meera Shrestha, Ramesh KC, Prem Bahadur Shrestha, Rajendra Prasad Dhungana, Balram Chaudhary, Yogmaya Dhamala, Chandra Bahadur Subedi, and Basudev Joshi.

Tilak Bahadur Adhikari has been elected as the General Secretary. Approximately 650 delegates from across the country took part in the convention, which also passed 16 special resolutions. These include commitments to strengthening unity among auditors, addressing global and domestic challenges in the auditing profession, and working toward modern, respected, and timely accounting practices in line with international standards.
