At least 33 people have been killed in Sudan in a series of attacks linked to the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), amid the country’s ongoing civil war, Al Jazeera reported.
A drone strike on a jail in el-Obeid, North Kordofan state's capital, killed 19 persons and injured 45, according to medical sources. A day earlier, an airstrike in Darfur killed 14 members of the same family.
The RSF has been fighting the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) since April 2023. In recent days, the gang has launched drone attacks on Port Sudan, causing crucial infrastructure damage, including a power system and the country's last operable civilian airport, which serves as a vital humanitarian supply hub, as stated by Al Jazeera,
The conflict has killed tens of thousands, displaced over 13 million people, and resulted in what the UN calls the world's biggest humanitarian disaster.
