Janakpur Bolts register second consecutive win
Janakpur Bolts defeated Karnali Yaks by eight wickets in the match held today under the Siddhartha Bank Nepal Premier League (NPL). This is the second consecutive victory for the Janakpur Bolts.
Earlier, in the inaugural match of the tournament held on Saturday, Janakpur Bolts had defeated Biratnagar Kings also by eight wickets. With the victory, Janakpur Bolts are at the top of the points table.
In today's match, batting first after winning the toss at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Karnali Yaks scored 141 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Gulshan Kumar Jha scored the highest with 36 runs off 27 balls while Arjun Gharti contributed 33 runs to the Karnali. Similarly, captain Sompal Kami scored 29 runs not out. Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan scored 14 runs off 14 balls with the help of three fours. Similarly, Hong Kong's Babar Hayat scored 12 runs.
For Janakpur Bolts, Pakistani Mohammad Mohsin Khan took two wickets, Jimmy Neesham, Harsh Thackeray, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi and Kishore Mahato took one wicket each.
Chasing the victory target of 142 runs, Janakpur Bolts surpassed it in just 15.1 overs, losing two wickets in the process. Captain Anil Kumar Sah scored an unbeaten 62 runs in 42 balls.
Similarly, Ashif Sheikh contributed 36 runs in 29 balls, Lahiru Milantha scored 24 runs in 13 balls while Jimmy Nishim scored 16 runs unbeaten in 8 balls.
For the bowling side, Zisham Maqsood and Mausam Dhakal took one wicket each.
