Four killed as landslide sweeps away three houses in Lamjung
Four persons died when a landslide swept away three houses at Pachyu Tole in Bagum of Uttarkanya, Lamjung on Tuesday.
According to ward member Bin Prasad Ghale, the landslide washed away the houses of Rudraman Gurung, Panchaman Gurung and Chitra Ghale.
The deceased have been identified as Rudraman Gurung (69), Panchaman Gurung (36) and her two daughters Ichhya Gurung (7) and Namrata Gurung (5).
Bhim Bahadur Gurung, brother of Chitra Gurung, was injured in the incident.
Police Inspector Thaneshwor Chapagain informed that a police team from Besisahar, district headquarters, and Maling is heading towards the incident site.
Likewise, a person died and two others were injured when a landslide buried a house and two sheds in Okhaldhunga.
Police identified the deceased as Dev Kumari Khatri (35) wife of Baburam Khatri (39) of Chisankhugadhi Rural Municipality-5, Okhaldhunga.
Similarly, a person died after being buried by a landslide at Syaut in Besisahar Municipality-11, Lamjung.
The deceased has been identified as Bikam Sunar (16).
