Govt decides to form three-member probe commission to resolve loan shark victims’ problems

The government has decided to form a three-member probe commission under the headship of former judge Tej Bahadur Karki to resolve the problems of loan shark victims.

A Cabinet meeting held on Friday made the decision to this effect, government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma said.

The commission has been suggested to submit the report within three months.

Earlier, a commission was formed under the leadership of former judge Gauri Bahadur Karki.

Saying that the commission did not solve the problems, the loan shark victims came to Kathmandu on foot from various parts of the country and staged a capital-centric protest.

Loan shark victims, who have been staging protests for a long time, and the government reached an agreement to form a new commission.

According to the same agreement, the government has decided to form a new commission.
