A doctor of Sinamangal-based Kathmandu Medical College has been assaulted on Sunday.
Dr Manish Khadka was attacked this morning while he was examining the patients in the OPD.
Relatives of the patient attacked Dr Khadka with the helmet for not examining the patients on time.
Police have arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in attacking the doctor.
Following the incident, doctors and health workers of the hospital staged a protest against the attack on their colleague who was deployed to examine the patients.
The government and the doctors, who have been staging the protests for a long time demanding security, signed an agreement only on Saturday.
Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha and representatives of the Nepal Medical Association signed the agreement.
