Government announces public holiday on the day of Nembang’s cremation
The government has decided to cremate Constituent Assembly member and CPN-UML Vice-Chairman Subash Chandra Nembang with state honors.
An emergency Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday decided to give a public holiday on the day of Nembang’s cremation, Tourism Minister Sudan Kiranti said.
“The government has decided to give him state honors in recognition of his contribution in the constitution making process,” he said.
Nembang was rushed to the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital after he fell unconscious in the toilet of his Baluwatar-based residence.
The hospital announced that he died at 1:40 am today.
It has been learnt that Nembang’s last rites will be performed after his sons come from abroad.
