Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah has banned the screening of Indian movies in Nepal from Monday. Shah said that he decided to ban the screening of Indian movies in Nepal from tomorrow after his request to remove a portion of the movie ‘Adipurush’ which shows that Janaki is the Indian daughter, was ignored. “Indian movies will not be allowed to screen in Kathmandu metropolis until the controversial part of the movie is removed,” he said.

“If the movie is permitted to screen in Nepal, it will cause irreparable damage to Nepal’s nationality, cultural unity and national sovereignty,” Mayor Shah said.
