Police on Thursday arrested Bhutanese refugee leader Teknath Rijal in connection with the fake Bhutanese refugee scam. He was dragged into the case after those arrested in the scam mentioned his name during the statement they gave to the investigators, SSP Dan Bahadur Karki of the District Police Range, Kathmandu said. Police said that Rijal has been taken to the court to extend the remand.
