Two children died after being crushed by a tractor at Samewa in Bharapa of Hilihang Rural Municipality-7, Panchthar on Wednesday. Police identified the deceased as Pujana Subedi (13) and Ganga Subedi (11), daughters of Kamal Subedi. Police said that the Subedi duo, who were traveling in the tractor (Me 1 Ta 2961), died after they accidentally fell down to be crushed by the rear wheel of the same vehicle.

DSP Hari Khatiwada of the District Police Office, Panchthar said that the tractor turned turtle after the driver tried to escape from the incident site.

It has been learnt that 11 students were traveling in the tractor. Police said that the driver and the assistant driver of the tractor are at large. Pujana was an eighth grader and Ganga fourth grader at the Bhawani Secondary School in Hihihang.
