A staffer at the Foreign Ministry was found dead in Begnas Lake on Monday. Karki police said that Anup Bhandari (31), non-gazetted officer at the Foreign Ministry, of Udayapur was found dead this morning. Locals had informed police after they saw a body floating on the water near Dungaghat at around 8:30 am today.

His identity was ascertained on the basis of the identity card recovered from his pocket, DSP Shrawan Kumar BK of the District Police Office, Kaski said.

He was stationed at the Passport Department. Bhandari’s body has been sent to the Western Regional Hospital for postmortem. Police said that they are looking into the case.
