SC issues short-term interim order in Dhaka Kumar Shrestha’s case

The Supreme Court has issued a short-term interim order in the case of Dhaka Kumar Shrestha, former lawmaker of the Rastriya Swatantra Party. A single bench of Justice Til Prasad Shrestha issued the short-term interim order in the case today. The court has asked for the reason to suspend Shrestha.

Shrestha had filed a writ at the apex court demanding that he be reinstated as a lawmaker.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire had already read out a notice about Shrestha’s removal from the post of lawmaker. Shrestha had filed the writ making the Rastriya Swatantra Party a defendant. The Rastriya Swatantra Party had expelled Shrestha from the party and Parliament after an audio of him asking Rs 20 million from Durga Prasain was leaked on April 9.
