Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed his belief that the Pokhara International Airport would contribute significantly in the economic development of the country. He said that the Pokhara International Airport would not only help develop the economy of the district but of the whole country. The Prime Minister had reached Pokhara this morning to inaugurate the airport.

He was of the opinion that the dream of the people of Pokhara has been fulfilled with the operation of the airport.

Prime Minister Dahal, who is also the Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center) said that he felt happy and proud to inaugurate the airport less than a week after becoming the prime minister for the third time. He said that he had been saying that an international airport should be constructed in Pokhara since he signed the peace agreement. Prime Minister Dahal further said that he had also held discussions with concerned persons for the construction of the airport.
