The Nepali Congress has decided to hold the election to choose the party’s Parliamentary Party leader on December 21.
A meeting of the Election Committee held on Monday made the decision to this effect.
Earlier on Sunday, the NC had formed a three-member committee under the headship of Bhishmaraj Angdembe to hold the election for the parliamentary party leader.
Pushpa Bhusal and Prakash Snehi are the other members of the committee.
The Congress has 89 lawmakers. Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba, senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel, Shekhar Koirala and General Secretary Gagan Thapa have staked claim for the post of prime minister.
