Hari Prasad Uprety of the CPN-UML has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Sarlahi-3. He defeated Narendra Sah Kalawar of the CPN (Maoist Center) by a margin of 770 votes. Uprety secured 32, 938 votes while his closest contender Kalawar got 32, 168 votes.

Similarly, Tribhuvan Kumar Singh of the Janamat Party received 5, 519 votes.
