The Election Commission has asked clarification from CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal for breaching the election code of conduct. The poll body sought clarification from former Prime Minister Dahal after he was found using panchebaja (traditional musical instruments) while going to file his candidacy in Gorkha-2. It is mentioned in the election code of conduct that the candidates cannot use musical instruments while going to register nominations.

The EC has directed him to furnish clarification within seven days.
