Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has been arrested. SP Dineshraj Mainali of Kathmandu Police informed that he was arrested from the airport after arriving in Kathmandu by Qatar Airlines. He said that the legal process will now proceed. Lamichhane, the cricketer accused of raping a minor girl, informed through social media that he will arrive in Nepal today. Although it was supposed to land at Tribhuvan International Airport at 10 am, it was delayed for some time due to bad weather.

“As I promised, I am surrendering to the authorities today, I am landing in Kathmandu at 10 am by Qatar Airlines. I have informed the police in writing about surrendering,” he wrote on his social media. He has promised to help the police at every step. 

As he did not return to Nepal for a long time, the Nepal Police asked Interpol for help and the international organization for police issued a diffusion notice against Lamichhane.
