This is the most important day of the biggest festival of Nepali Hindus which they celebrate every year. Today, on this occasion, people receive tika on their foreheads and jamara on their heads from seniors in the family as blessings from goddess Durga. According to the Nepal Calendar Determination Committee (NCDC), the most auspicious time to receive tika and jamara today was 11:51 am.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, and top political leaders among others have extended their greetings for Vijaya Dashami to the public.
