Police have arrested a man in possession of 20 tola gold from Biratnagar Airport on Tuesday.
The suspect has been identified as Kul Bahadur Sunuwar (45) of Itahari, Sunsari.
Police said that they searched him after he acted suspiciously while boarding a flight of Yeti Airlines to Kathmandu.
Sunuwar, who was arrested with the precious yellow metal, has been kept at the District Police Office, Morang.
During the interrogation, he said that he bought three kg of gold from a bank and was going to take it to Kathmandu by making ornaments.
DSP Deepak Shrestha of the District Police Office, Morang said that police have asked Sunuwar to bring the bills of the gold.
Further investigation into the incident is underway.
