Government starts administering second dose of Covid-19 vaccine to children from today

The government has started administering the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine to children between five and 11 years from today.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the children of 27 districts, who have taken the first dose of Pfizer vaccine from June 23, will be administered second dose till July 24.

The children of this age group should visit the nearby vaccination center carrying the vaccination card.

The vaccination campaign will be conducted in Jhapa, Ilam, Morang and Sunsari of Province 1, Saptari, Dhanusha, Parsa, Siraha and Mahottari of Madhes Province.

Similarly, the vaccine will be administered in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kavre, Chitwan, Sindhuli and Makwanpur of Bagmati Province and Kaski and Nawalparasi East of Gandaki Province.

Likewise, the campaign will also be conducted in Nawalparasi West, Rupandehi, Banke, Dang and Baridya of Lumbini Province, Surkhet of Karnali Province, Kailali, Kanchanpur and Dadeldhura of Sudurpaschim Province.

The government has planned to administer the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine to the children of the remaining 50 districts from July 21 to 27 and second dose from August 12 to 17.
