India hands over disaster relief material to Nepal

The Government of India has provided disaster relief material to the Government of Nepal on Friday.

Ambassador of India to Nepal Naveen Srivastava handed over consignments of flood and disaster-relief material to Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand during a ceremony held at the Ministry of Home Affairs in Singhadurbar today.

The relief material includes 3000 tents and ten motor inflatable boats.

During the ceremony, Home Minister Khand thanked the Indian government for the relief material.

Saying that Nepal and India enjoy people to people relations besides the government to government relations, Minister Khand said Nepal was always ready to further expand such relations between the two countries.

On the occasion, he appreciated ongoing disaster relief-related cooperation between Nepal and India and hoped for continued support from the Indian government in the future as well.

Likewise, Ambassador Srivastava expressed that this timely supply of relief material is optimally utilized by concerned agencies to ensure its maximum benefit by timely distribution and efficient utilization, according to a press release issued from the Embassy of India in Kathmandu.
