Hari Prasad Mandal has been elected as the mayor of Matihani Municipality in Mahottari.
Mandal, who had filed his candidacy from the Democratic Socialist Party Nepal, was elected to the top post of municipality for the second term.
According to Election Officer Kul Bahadur Phadera, Madal won the elections with 4, 003 votes. His closest contender Mohammad Majibul Rahaman of Janata Samajbadi Party got 1, 329 votes.
Likewise, Manju Devi of Democratic Socialist Party Nepal has been elected as the Deputy Mayor with 3, 864 votes while her rival Jibachi Devi Yadav of Janata Samajbadi Party received 2, 751 votes.
