AMN, NBA sign MoU for implementation of ‘Unity for Sustainability’ campaign

Annapurna Media Network, the parent company of Annapurna daily newspaper, and Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of the ‘Unity for Sustainability’ campaign on Tuesday.

AMN, a leading media house in Nepal, launched a two-year ‘Unity for Sustainability’ campaign which aims to collaborate with concerned stakeholders on climate change issues on November 24.

Nepal Bankers’ Association President Anil Kumar Upadhyay, Executive Director Anil Sharma and Chief Executive Officer of Annapurna Media Network Sanat Neupane singed the MoU amid a programme organised at the former’s office in Thapathali today. 

During the programme, Chiranjivi Neupane on behalf of the campaign talked about the main objective of the 12-point programme and organizations cooperating with the Unity for Sustainability campaign.

The main objective of signing the MoU was to reduce the impact of climate change in Nepal, advise people to use alternative energy for cooking, encourage the use of green energy in industries and to protect biodiversity.

Nepal has planned to achieve ‘no net’ carbon emissions by 2045.

While signing the MoU, Nepal Bankers’ Association President Upadhyay said that the need of the hour is the green economic development and said that all should think about the same

Similarly, AMN CEO Nuepane said that the Annapurna Media has started a debate and awareness campaign on climate change through all its media and said that this campaign will further broaden the knowledge of the general public on the issue.

He said that climate change is an important issue not only for a person or an organization but for the whole world, stressing on the need to raise awareness on the issue.
