Tension ran high in Janakpur after a clash erupted between the cadres of Janamat Party led by CK Raut and police personnel on Wednesday.

Police resorted to baton charge after the Janamat Party cadres tried to enter the voting center of the National Assembly Elections.

It has been learnt that police also fired five rounds of tear gas shells to take the situation under control.

The Janamat Party cadres have been staging demonstrations in various parts of Janakpur since this morning by burning tyres demanding that the governemnt address the demands put forward by the farmers at the earliest.
