A tripod is essential if you’re taking night-time slow shutter shots. If you shoot videos with your DSLR, life without a tripod is going to be difficult. There are cheaper tripods than the Weifeng WF-6663A, but most of the cheaper ones are thin, light and fragile. Cheaper tripods tend to be flimsy and wonky, while better ones cost quite a bit. The Weifang falls right on the sweet spot. While not being over-expensive, the tripod has quite a heft to it and stands firm.
