The government has appointed Prof Dr Jagannath Regmi as rector and Pro Dr Nawaraj Kattel as registrar of Nepal Sanskrit University (NSU). 

Minister for Education and Sports, Sasmit Pokharel, appointed them to the respective posts, according to Pro Dr Kattel.  

Prof Dr Bhim Khatiwada  had earlier been appointed Vice- Chancellor of the University. 

The appointments were made through an open competition.  

The government had formed a three-member panel, coordinated by Prof Dr Madhav Sharan Upadhyay, to recommend candidates for the key posts at NSU.
