Six persons including Birgunj High Court Chief Judge were injured when a Scorpio jeep they were traveling in met with an accident at Jurikhet in Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-6, Makawanpur on Tuesday.
The incident occurred when the Scorpio jeep (3-01-002 Jha 5183) heading towards Birgunj from Kathmandu lost control and fell 50 to 60 meters down the road at 7 am today.
The injured have been identified as Birgunj High Court Chief Judge Gokarna Dangi (57) of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-9, driver Chhunilal Chaudhary (32) of Rapti Municipality-8, Dang, High Court Registrar Taradatta Badu (51) of Dasharathchand Municipality-7, Baitadi, his wife Laxmi Badu (49), his sister Rina Badu (31) and their son Ritendra Badu (25).
Immediately after the incident, a team of seven people including traffic police from the Area Police Office, Bhimphedi and a team led by Superintendent of Police (SP) Shyam Bahadur Khatri from the District Police Office, Makawanpur, rescued the injured.
The District Police Office, Makawanpur said that they are looking into the case.
