Rabindra Mehta, who was seriously injured in a communal violence incident in Kaptangunj, Dewanganj Rural Municipality-3, Sunsari,  died during the course of treatment in Kathmandu.

Mehta breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital this morning, Dewanganj Rural Municipality Chairman Bechan Mehta said.

With the death of Rabindra, the death toll in the Kaptangunj incident has reached three.

Earlier, Jayaprakash Mehta and Om Prakash Mehta had lost their lives in the incident.

Following the incident, a seven-point agreement was reached between the victims’ families and the government in the presence of Home Minister Sudhan Gurung. 

After the agreement, the funerals of the two deceased were performed.
