Two women died after being swept away in a flooded river in Kailali district this morning. 

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Kailali Yogendra Timilsina said that Maheshwori Dhamala (55) and Kalpana Saud (40) of Godawari Municipality-4 were swept away by Godawari river in the district. 

Their bodies were recovered from the Bandevi temple area. 

Police said that the two had gone to collect mushrooms in the nearby jungle area.
