The Kathmandu metropolis has resumed the expansion of footpaths in the New Road area.

Following the order from the Patan High Court, the metropolis started expanding the footpaths by demolishing the road in New Road.

Earlier, the Kathmandu metropolis and Road Division Office had a dispute due to lack of coordination.

Saying that it was against the standard, the Kathmandu metropolis had cut the  road section between New Road gate and Juddha Salik.

In response, saying that the move of the metropolis was against the law, the Road Division Office had repaired and blacktopped the road section.

The footpath expansion work began following the interim order issued by Patan High Court Judge duo as demanded by the metropolis.
